Call Day #116, 6/16/15
This week is Vacation Bible School at church. The theme is "Jonah to Jehovah" and the kids have different color t-shirts to help them stay with their group as they move among the many activities of the morning.
I worked in the nursery this morning, in Oliver's room. It's not his usual Sunday morning nursery room so the toys were new and exciting.
Lots of "ice team."
The nursery kids got to go listen to music.
Oliver painting. Such a perfect art project for this age--paint with water and the color appears.
Eleanor and Claire's friends, Alex and Nicolas, who have lived across the street from us for almost a year are leaving at the end of the week. Eleanor is very sad as they play together almost every afternoon. We joined them for an afternoon at the pool, a goodbye party of sorts. (Many thanks to Nanny for staying with Oliver while he napped so we could be there for the whole party.)
Sharing a chair.
Oliver was happy to have made it in time for the food. He put scoops of the cookies-and-cream ice cream cake into his soda. At first, it looked like an ice cream float. Later, it looked like he was using a spoon to drink muddy water with dirt floating in it. Other friends at the pool were asking what he had, and he was happy as can be with his concoction.
These four have spent countless afternoon hours entertaining one another. Having homeschool friends right across the street has been a gift for them all.
We ran by Daddy's hospital to bring him a few things. Even a few minutes means a chance to share some highlights of the day.
And get a hug.
