Call Day #128, 9/7/15
Post-breakfast vacuuming. The girls are alternating weeks for cleaning up under the table.
Claire posing with the book she read me for school this morning. She has made big strides in reading in these past few weeks of school.
Claire's twisty legs. "Take a picture of this!"
Eleanor asked to do school in Mommy and Daddy's room because Oliver and Claire were playing loudly. We made it through a little bit of material before hearing both Oliver and Claire crying downstairs. A few seconds later, they both come in, Claire with lots of blood on her face. Oliver's head had banged in to Claire's nose. Found myself in the very-familiar position of pinching Claire's nose til the bleeding stopped (She's had lots of nose bleeds!).
Bloody Claire pretends to be a monster. There was much to clean up after the bleeding stopped: wallpaper, bathroom floor, drops of blood from the playroom to the bathroom, and Claire herself. There was laundry to start to wash that shirt. After a long interruption, we started back to school. There are often lots of starts and stops to our learning!
After lunch, Eleanor built "an easel" on the screened porch so she could do some artwork outside. She let Claire use it (after much negotiation).
Oliver happily collected acorns in the back yard.
We went to Nanny and Papa's house for dinner. Oliver playing town.
Claire and Eleanor played a game of charades with Nanny.
Claire's skirt was worn as a cape for much of the evening.
Playing with moon sand.
On the way home, we turned on the classical station and they all loved the piece that was playing. They were laughing as different instruments were featured in ways they didn't expect. The sound was different than a lot of what they've heard and they wanted to drive around til the end of the piece so we could find out who it was. We did a bit, but finally came inside and listened to the end of it online. Dancing and running ensued. The composer they like so much? Aaron Copeland.
