Life and Call in Durham
We made it! We're official North Carolinians now--we have an address and drivers licenses and everything. We are mostly unpacked and know how to get around a bit. It's a totally different world than the one we left behind but that's been a welcome change in many ways. We are appreciating the little things--not climbing two flights of stairs to get to our place, not parking on the street, not deciding whether going somewhere is worth it based on traffic, not taking the bus to work everyday... Clearly, we are glad that many aspects of our daily Boston life have changed. We are enjoying our new neighborhood--the welcoming neighbors, pool, and quick drive to work--and our little bit of time in Durham thus far.
Erik's schedule gave us more time to settle in than we expected, but now his work has started in earnest. The spacing between call days will be different than it was in Boston, but call shifts (all day and overnight like before) will continue. We'll try to keep the pictures coming!
