Call Day #112, 3/15/15

Erik is going to be taking Claire to see the new Cinderella movie for her birthday. She spotted this picture in a magazine and we found out there's a Frozen short movie playing beforehand. She's eagerly looking forward to this gift!

Splitting up the candy hearts Daddy left as a surprise for them to find this morning.

How many Carters and Madsens can you fit on one chair? Quite a few!

Favorite friends at church this morning.

We Skyped with Grandma and Grandpa this afternoon to let Claire open her birthday presents from them. She wanted to start by showing them that she and her doll were wearing the matching outfits Grandma made. All of the matching outfits Grandma made get LOTS of use by this girl!

Opening card.

Enjoying present opening.

Watching Eleanor help figure out one of her gifts. She had specifically asked for food to feed her baby dolls.

Oliver was so happy to have a bath! (As always.) Here he's asking for "more toys please."

We played with the alphabet we have. He's been enjoying learning letters and singing the alphabet lately. Here he is with all of the ones he correctly identified for me (from right to left, T, F, M, A, P, E, C, D, O, 2, and S).

Call Day #111, 3/13/15

We celebrated Pi Day a day early. The girls learned new words: circumference, diameter, and radius.

Oliver was my shopping buddy while the girls were at Nanny's. We went a few places to get what we need to have a small birthday party for Claire tomorrow. It's fun to run errands with him--we have little conversations along the way.

We had lunch with Nanny and shared the pie we made for Pi Day.

Oliver started walking up the stairs not on hands and knees just a few days ago.

Finishing up their project after lunch. Eleanor and Claire have been enjoying weekly art projects with Nanny that tie in with the history we're studying. We look forward to this day each week.

Eleanor has been reading before bed for a while now, but today was the first time she wanted to just pick up a  book and read during the day. She asked for "reading time" during school this morning and then finished the book before dinner. A chapter book from start to finish in a day (and not much total time to read it either). Asked for the next in this new series right away.
